Laminates are made to look like wood or tile but can be a less expensive alternative to wood or tile. Its water resistance surface has a harder wear layer than natural wood. Laminate can be installed below grade, and can only be floated. It is a thinner flooring so it offers a bit more clearance than choices like wood or tile, yet can give you the same look of real wood or tile floors.
